Begin Again: The Scale Said What

This week was a great week.

I feel like I say that every week but it’s true. I’m just really enjoying this journey way more than I did my first time. I guess it’s because I know what to expect and it’s easier since I kind of have a clue.

Food: My food has been consistently the same meal after meal. Angela grabbed the Skinnytaste Slow Cooker cookbook and picked out a meal for this week.

Breakfast and lunches have been the same. Dinner has been Turkey Stroganoff (it was originally beef) and I’ve been enjoying it. Just because it’s new and it didn’t take a lot of prep time.

Workouts: Workouts have been killer. Trying to be consistent with cardio because I will skip it if I had the chance. To get more cardio in, I’ve incorporated jump rope into my training every day.

Currently, I do 5 minutes of jump rope a day. That doesn’t seem like much but I can tell you that my whole body is feeling just 5 minutes a day.

I’ve been doing jump rope intervals. 30 secs of jumping. 30 seconds of rest. I do this interval for 5 rounds.

I’ve also been doing the same intervals in between sets of my strength training. Lift, jump rope, rest, repeat. It’s the best of both worlds if you are limited on time.

Weigh in Wednesday: I had no clue what to expect on the scale this week. I always shoot for 2 lbs lost but that’s never guaranteed.

I stepped on the scale and was amazed to see 4.8 lbs lost! That’s 31.2 lbs lost since January 2017 and an overall total of 189.6 lbs lost since January 2011.

This whole journey is an amazing process. I’m just happy to be getting closer to a healthy weight.

By the way, I weighed in at 302.4 lbs so I’m hoping to be out of the 300’s soon. 🙏 Maybe next week…
