I can’t believe that it’s been six weeks since I recommitted myself to this weight loss journey once again.
The time has flown by.
Truly, I can say that this has been a very smooth transition into losing weight. No frustration. Zero hunger issues.
In the first 5 weeks, I’ve lost just under 8 pounds. I weigh in for week 6 on Tuesday!
My strategy was to keep the loss at a 2 pound a week pace. I can easily lose 5 pounds a week but I also want to build muscle while losing fat.
I’m choosing to take this weight loss journey slow and steady.
I haven’t had a binging episode for a long time. My sugar craving and intake has been kept to a minimum. I think this is because my sweet tooth is being fulfilled by this fantastic dark chocolate Jell-o pudding.
It’s 60 calories and really hits that sweet spot.
MyFitnessPal has been my food tracker of choice. I used LoseIt previously but MFP works the best for me.
My calorie budget is set just over 2000 calories. That budget is working very well. I’m not hungry at the end of the night. I feel satisfied.
Workouts are going very well. I’m having fun while getting stronger and healthier.
Why is everything different this time around?
Mostly, I focus on the diet. Previously, I focused solely on the amount of calories. That’s fine to do but I noticed I was hungry at the end of each day.
My diet before consisted of more carbs and less protein and fat.
I realized that I work better with a little more protein, moderate carbs and low fat.
Every body is different. I know friends who can inhale carbs and not gain a pound. I also know people who work better on a high fat and low carb diet.
It’s whatever works best for you.
Find out what combination of foods help you feel better and less hungry. Weight loss is a calorie subtraction. Eat the best foods that have more bang for the buck.
Weight loss is a slow journey. Enjoy every moment of it. Learn. Practice. Whatever works for you, then do more of that!
