Have you ever ran 10 or more miles on a treadmill in one session?

I did…on Friday night. The things you do to get your planned run done.

Let’s jump back to the beginning of the week first.

This is week 3 of marathon training. Everything is going according to plan.

Most of you probably know this but I’m also trying to lose weight while training for Chicago Marathon.

It’s hard. Unbelievably hard.

I just want to eat all the carbs. No joke. Bread, pretzels, popcorn, even potato chips. I don’t even like potato chips and I want it. Not really sure what that is all about.

I’ve also been craving sugar. Just slightly though. Nothing crazy.

I’ve been able to curb the craving of both though. I ate taco salad (sans taco) for dinner all week so no carbs for me at dinner. Jello is my new best friend this week for night snacks.

Breakfast and lunch are typically the same. Two whole eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. Healthy Choice Steamer meal and a Greek yogurt for lunch. Snacks during work hours is an Granny Smith apple and 2 servings of lowfat cottage cheese.

Workouts still going strong. Runs were 3 days this week. (I missed a shorter run this week because I switched my long run to Friday) Extra cycling cardio in the mornings twice this week. Strength training just once this week. I had to go to work early on Monday. Then, Centergy once this week and some household yard work on Thursday.

Friday, I went for my 10 mile long run on the treadmill. I had a cable appointment scheduled for Saturday morning so I wanted to get my run in the day before. It’s hot outside these days so I decided to run it inside the gym.

Treadmill running isn’t bad but it isn’t exciting either. For some reason, the treadmill I was on stopped after an hour. So, I had to restart it a few times. After listening to the same five artists on Spotify and watching some Real Housewives of whatever city special that was on, (it was on the tv on the treadmill and I was bored) I finished my 10 miles.

Saturday, my right foot was hurting, but feels better as of this writing.

I start week 4 today. I can tell that I’m getting focused on my training. These food cravings are crazy though. I hope to get those in check.

By the way, I did enjoy some Vietnamese food from a new restaurant in town called Sweet Basil for lunch on Saturday.

Also, I enjoyed a good Bison burger on Saturday night from Daddio’s Burger.

It doesn’t hurt to have something different on the weekends since I eat the same meals all week.

Until next week.

Would you run 10 miles on a treadmill? Do you even like the treadmill?

    Hey Willie,
I just came across your youtube video about your gallbladder surgery. I also just had my gallbladder removed. It was an emergency surgery about 2 months ago. I also run a lot and eat very heathy and clean and recently gained about 15 pounds just in the last month. Needless to say I’m so frustrated right now and just hate my body. I saw all the supplements that you take and plan on getting them–like the ox bile enzymes. Did you find them helpful? I saw in the comments of that video that you lost some weight again which is great! Did you have to decrease your calories again and change your diet as well? Just wondering. Thanks again for posting. It was really helpful. I’ve just been feeling so depressed and horrible because of all of this.

    • Hey Yaara,

Thanks for checking out my video. I have to say that the supplements are helping. I’m bad about taking them everyday. When I do take them, they really do help a lot. My diet has not changed since day one. I’m just very mindful of how much fat is actually in my diet. My diet revolves somewhere around 2000 to 2300 calories, depending on how much I train. More if I’m training. Hopefully they can help you too. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
