My Weekday Routine

For the past couple of years, I’ve kept a standard weekday routine. I honestly was never a morning person ever. I used to sleep in later than I do now. I used to rush off to work and forget to do so many things that I needed to do.

I’ve now transitioned into being a morning person. It makes me feel good to get stuff done fairly early in the morning so the rest of the day doesn’t feel like a scramble to get things done.

The following list is my weekday routine for most days. I’m still tweaking it everyday to fit more things in but it has worked for me very well lately.

  • 4 a.m.: Wake Up
  • 5 a.m.: Workout (Strength Training/Cardio)
  • 6 a.m.: Get ready for work (Get dressed/Meal Prep)
  • 6:30 a.m.: Leave for Work
  • 7 a. m.: Work
  • 12 p.m.: Lunch Break
  • 1 p.m.: Return to Work
  • 4 p.m.: Clock Out from Work
  • 4:30 p.m.: Afternoon Cardio Workout
  • 6:00 p.m.: Head home
  • 7:00 p.m.: Eat dinner
  • 7:30 p.m. until bedtime: Read/Watch TV/Internet browsing
  • 10 p.m.: Bed Time

Now, some of these times I don’t always hit directly. Sometimes, my afternoon cardio workout runs a little long. This is true especially when I do longer runs during the week. Sometimes, I don’t go to bed at 10pm. Sometimes, we go to special events during the week. Things like social runs, Toastmasters, or just spending time with friends affects my schedule. I’m not super strict with my schedule. I know things will change at times. I’m always adapting.

I’m sharing this because I wanted to know where I waste extra time. I’m making an effort to put more dedication to my goals this year. So, I wanted to share my schedule with you for not only my purpose but for yours as well.

What does your weekday schedule look like? Are there things that you want to spend more time focusing on in 2016?

  • My routine is more evening based than morning. I do most of my meal prep on Sundays so I can grab-and-go in the mornings. We’re in renovations so my workouts are at a local studio and class times vary. Do you workout at home or at a gym?

    • Thanks for commenting again, Brooke! I feel like routines are a preference. Some can do it in the morning while others thrive best at night.

Great plan with the Sunday meal prep. I feel that it saves times during the week. I applaud those that can meal prep every night. It’s amazing.

Good luck with your renovations. I mostly workout from the gym and occasionally outside. If I workout at home, I get distracted and I’m less inclined to do the workout. I’ve tried and it just doesn’t work for me.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!
