Taking A Break Is A Good Thing

After being sick for over a week and being on vacation, I finally feel back on track for the first time in awhile. I just felt off balance. After coming back from vacation, it took me a whole week just to readjust to life again. I felt really sluggish. I felt tired. I just felt worn down. I’m not sure if it was because of me being sick for that week or just a combination of both events. Regardless, I’m back to normal.

Yesterday, I went to the gym for the first time in over a week and it felt good. The weights went up smoothly and I didn’t have any problems. I was energized! I went for a run as well in the cool weather and it felt great. I was excited to be back on a normal routine.


Sometimes, taking a break is a good thing. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’m sure you have things going on in your life. You feel overwhelmed. You feel tired. You just need a pause button for your life. We don’t really have that button but the equivalent of that is just taking a break from things.

When you’re sick, you really appreciate that rest time. Why is that any different than just taking a breather for yourself? As I said before, we all get overwhelmed and sometimes we just need a reboot. Take some time out for yourself. Do something different for a week. Something to get you out of your routine that is draining you. Routines are good but sometimes they are just not good for you. Especially if you’re on autopilot. So take some time. Relax your mind. Do a little reboot on yourself.
