Recipe: Juicy Turkey Burgers

Burgers are usually the go to staple in our house. If you need to make a meal that can be used as just a burger or as a topping on your salad, burgers are the way to go. The problem with burgers that are made with ground turkey are that they tend to be dry. So, you either have to add some extra fat to them or add moisture from keeping them from drying out. So, I made these burgers as a test. They turned out really well and were far from dry. Try this recipe out and let me know how it turns out.

Burgers are the easiest thing to make but turkey burgers tend to be dry from lack of fat and moisture. These burgers were far from dry.
Ingredients
  • 1 pound Extra Lean Ground Turkey (99%/1%)
  • 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey (93%/7%)
  • 6 ounces White Mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Pinch baking soda
  • Olive oil spray
Instructions
  1. In a food processor, add and pulse mushrooms 4-6 times to get a chopped consistency.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, mushrooms, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and pinch of baking soda together.
  3. Form burger patties (about 4 oz per patty)
  4. Heat up a skillet to medium heat and spray with olive oil spray. (I used a cast iron grill pan for the grill marks but any 10-12 inch skillet will do)
  5. Cook four patties at a time (4 mins per side)
  6. Serve
